Refund & Dispute Policy

1. General Policy

All sales on Sporeboard are considered final once a deal reaches 'Live' status — meaning the brand has paid, the creator has accepted the booking, and both parties have confirmed the terms. For direct bookings, a deal goes Live after the creator accepts the booking within 72 hours of payment. For custom offers, a deal goes Live after: (1) the creator accepts the offer, (2) the brand completes payment within 48 hours of acceptance, and (3) the creator accepts the resulting booking. We encourage both parties to review all details carefully before approving a booking. Refunds may still be issued after a deal goes Live in the circumstances described in Section 5. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

2. Creator Obligations

Creators who accept a booking are obligated to:

  • Deliver the agreed sponsored placement on or before the confirmed slot date
  • Publish the submitted ad copy substantially as approved
  • Communicate proactively if any delay or issue arises

Failure to deliver a placement without prior agreement from the brand may result in a full refund being issued to the brand. Repeated failures may result in account suspension.

3. Brand Obligations

Brands are responsible for submitting complete, final ad copy before the agreed deadline. If a brand fails to submit ad copy on time, causing a delayed or missed placement, no refund will be issued. Brands should review and approve all bookings carefully before confirming payment.

4. Dispute Process

If you have a dispute regarding a booking or placement, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact the other party through the Sporeboard platform first to attempt resolution
  2. If unresolved, email support@sporeboard.live within 7 days of the issue arising
  3. Include your account email, the deal ID or booking details, and a description of the issue
  4. Sporeboard will review the dispute and respond within 5 business days

Disputes submitted more than 7 days after the issue arose may not be eligible for review.

Note: Your payment is held by Sporeboard and is not released to the creator until delivery is confirmed by the brand, or the 3-day review window passes without a response. If you have a delivery dispute, contact us before the auto-release window closes.

If a creator has not connected a Stripe account at the time of payout, funds are held by Sporeboard and are not refundable to the brand once the deal is completed. Held funds are released to the creator automatically upon Stripe account connection.

5. Refund Eligibility

✓ Full refund — Creator fails to deliver

If a creator fails to publish the agreed placement on the confirmed date and does not reschedule with the brand's agreement, the brand is entitled to a full refund.

✓ Full refund — Technical platform error

If a technical error on the Sporeboard platform caused a payment to process incorrectly or a booking to fail, a full refund will be issued.

✗ No refund — Brand submits ad copy late

If a brand fails to submit ad copy by the agreed deadline, causing the creator to miss the slot, no refund will be issued.

✗ No refund — Change of mind after approval

Once a deal has been approved and moved to "Live" status, cancellations due to a change of mind by either party are not eligible for a unilateral refund. The exception is mutual cancellation — if both parties agree to cancel through the Sporeboard cancellation request feature, a full refund is issued to the brand.

✓ Full refund — Creator does not accept a direct booking within 72 hours

For direct bookings (where the brand pays upfront at listing price), if a creator does not accept or decline within 72 hours of the brand's payment, the deal is automatically cancelled and a full refund is issued to the brand.

— No charge — Brand does not pay within 48 hours of custom offer acceptance

For custom offers, once a creator accepts, the brand has 48 hours to complete checkout. If the brand does not pay within that window, the offer is automatically cancelled and the brand is never charged. No refund is needed because no payment was taken. The creator is notified and is free to accept other bookings.

✓ Full refund — Mutual cancellation agreed

If both the brand and creator agree to cancel a live deal through the mutual cancellation request system, the brand receives a full refund. Cancellation requires explicit agreement from both parties — neither party can cancel unilaterally.

✗ No refund — Platform fees once a deal is completed

Sporeboard does not offer refunds on platform fees (15% standard, 10% Founding Creator) once a deal has been completed and funds have been released to the creator. These fees are earned at the point of deal completion.

✓ Refunds are issued in full — Sporeboard absorbs the Stripe fee

When a refund is approved, the brand receives the full amount they originally paid. The Stripe payment processing fee from the original charge (approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) is not recoverable from Stripe, but Sporeboard absorbs that cost so the brand is made whole. Sporeboard does not charge any additional cancellation or refund fee.

6. Refund Timeline

Approved refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear in the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Sporeboard is not responsible for additional delays caused by financial institutions. Refunds are issued for the full amount the brand originally paid; Sporeboard absorbs the Stripe processing fee on the original transaction.

7. Chargebacks

If a brand initiates a chargeback through their bank or card issuer instead of using Sporeboard's dispute process, Sporeboard reserves the right to freeze the associated deal, suspend the brand's account, and contest the chargeback using deal records, delivery proof, and communication history. We strongly encourage brands to use the dispute process outlined in Section 4 before initiating a chargeback. Creators are not penalised for chargebacks outside their control.

8. Sporeboard's Discretion

Sporeboard reserves the right to make final decisions on all disputes and refund requests. We will consider each case on its merits, taking into account all available information. Our decision is final and binding. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the dispute process.
